Cochem Castle
The first stop of this trip is the Castle of Cochem. The old walls, which throne powerfully over the Mosel River valley, are an invitation for every history and culture enthusiast. Enjoy beautiful noon in one the highest hill castles on the Mosel river. It’s overwhelming! With the Collegelife discount, the entrance fee is 6 Euro. We will visit the inside of the castle with a professional guide for 45 minutes.
Geierlay Bridge
After we have discovered the Castle of Cochem we are heading on to our final destination: A hiking track through the Geierlay Valley – crossing the Geierlay suspension bridge. Germanys longest suspension bridge with a length of over 350 meters and a height of over 100 meters makes an exciting experience out in the stunning German countryside! Do you dare to cross it?
*The hike difficulty is for beginners. The main route is about 6 km for which we need about 2.5 – 3.5 hours. If you do not dare to cross the bridge or simply do not want to hike the full track, it is possible to take a shortcut without crossing the bridge.
We recommend wearing hiking shoes.
